Vertical Racks for Standard 4.125" Box

Vertical Racks for Standard 4.125" Box

4.125" Boxes are easily stored with the vertical rack systems from Brooklyn Tool. Our 4.125" Box Racks come in two varieties: the Aluminum 4.125" Box Rack and the Stainless Steel 4.125" Box Rack.

Why Aluminum? Typically, aluminum is chosen for a rack by a lab that is looking for a more precise and controlled freezing of they samples they are working with. This is done because aluminum is a better energy conductor than stainless steel. Aluminum is also typically used in a nitrous oxide freezing process where a vapor platform is being used and the rack is being frozen using the vapor and not by being submerged into the nitrous oxide.

Why Stainless Steel? Stainless Steel racks are much more durable. They will not break down over time. They also do not oxidize so labs that have the most stringent requirements regarding particulate matter (dust, dirt, etc.) will use stainless steel racks. The fact that they do not oxidize means they are much cleaner to handle. Also, stainless steel racks when used in a nitrous oxide tank will be submerged in the nitrous oxide itself during the freezing process.
